A former PwC chief executive who was linked to the consulting firm’s tax leak scandal will be dragged under the spotlight for the first time.Tom Seymour, who headed PwC from 2020 to 2023, will appear at a Senate inquiry into ethics and professional accountability on Friday.The probe was launched after revelations emerged in January 2023 that PwC’s partners had passed on confidential Treasury information to boost private sector business for the firm.
Five months after the news broke, Seymour confirmed he had received emails relating to the information, apologised and stepped down.After 15 months of staying away from public appearances, Seymour is slated for a two-hour Senate grilling alongside his predecessor Luke Sayers.Current PwC chief executive Kevin Burrowes will also appear alongside a host of other staff as he and his team continue to wrangle with the repercussions of the tax scandal.
