The Greens’ blocking of legislation in the Senate and MP Max Chandler-Mather’s support for the CFMEU are to blame for the disappointing results in the Queensland election, says Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.After congratulating incoming premier David Crisafulli and giving credit to Steven Miles for an election result that was “much closer than many people predicted”, Plibersek commented on the Greens’ single-seat haul in Queensland.
“People were saying they were shocked Max Chandler-Mather standing up and defending the... criminal elements of the CFMEU on the back of a truck with a megaphone, instead of voting for housing, cheaper housing and more of it to be built,” Plibersek told Seven’s Sunrise.“They’re holding up housing reform.
