Returning to the climate minister’s morning media blitz, and Chris Bowen has assured voters there won’t be the same level of political sledging under the Labor government when it comes to question time.
“In terms of my job, it hasn’t changed. All of my powers, functions and duties are derived from [the] act,” Stephen McBurney told the ABC’s“None of them changed as a result of the announcement on Sunday other than some responsibilities under the code.”The government views the agency, established by the Coalition in 2016 to specifically oversee the building industry, as a discredited and politicised organisation that hounds unions.
“It’s not for me to pass judgment on the unions. It is for the courts to assess the evidence we put before them and to apply the law accordingly,” he said.
