A few Shane Warne fans have joined media at Essendon Fields in Melbourne to be there when the cricketer’s body finally arrives back home.Jennifer and Klaus Wolske at Essendon Fields Airport on Thursday night.“We’re just here to welcome Shane home. I lost my brother at 46 in similar circumstances,” Ms Wolske said.
“There’s nothing worse from a family perspective, and he would be such a key part of that family. Everything about [his children’s] lives would revolve around their Dad.”Both said they had been touched by stories of Warne’s generosity towards others.Several people have filed into a hanger, awaiting Warne’s arrival. Some are dressed in business wear and a car is stationed outside the hanger. Several police cars are stationed near the gate.
“Supporting the immediate housing needs is a further critical area of support. There are many more steps ahead of us to restore these devastated communities that experienced the equivalent of an inland tsunami.”
