Australia, the United States and Japan have ramped up military cooperation with a new series of joint exercises in the Northern Territory, expected to anger China.
Defence Minister Richard Marles has warned the"global rules-based order" has come under threat as Australia, Japan and the US conduct joint military exercises in a move expected to anger Beijing .

“We are very much wanting to identify ourselves as a country that stands for the global rules-based order,” he said.
