Annual inflation soared to 6.1 per cent, the highest rate since 2001, when prices spiked off the back of the introduction of the goods and services tax."There's people that can't afford to buy fresh fruit and veggies for their kids," Michele O'Neil from the ACTU said. "The annual rise in the CPI is the largest since the introduction of the goods and services tax ," she said.
