Weary firefighters will tackle the bushfire for a fifth day, with a Boeing 737 water bomber sent from New South Wales to help protect lives and homes.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services Superintendent Danny Mosconi said firefighters were able to establish containment lines on the northern fringes of the blaze overnight.

However, he said they face another day of challenging weather conditions with more wind changes and a forecast maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius. "We're hoping we can hold the fire to its current size but we do have plans in place if it does take a run," he said. "Our warning area is obviously bigger than the fire shape and that's because we want people out before any potential spreads of fire.""We understand it's inconvenient for people who have evacuated but obviously our number one priority is safety," he said.About 60 people took shelter at two evacuation centres in Quinns Rocks and Gingin overnight.
