Andrew Hastie has cautioned that Australia faces serious national security risks if the energy grid becomes reliant on China’s abundance of solar and wind.

It also pushed for a more agile and lethal navy and army with an emphasis on amphibious warfare in light of the growing threats in the Indo-Pacific.

Although the DSR did not explicitly mention China, Mr Hastie said the superpower remains the “elephant in the room”.
