Victorian health officials have confirmed a 50-year-old man has coronavirus, in the first confirmed case of the SARS-like virus in Australia.

"It is important to stress that there is no cause for alarm to the community. The patient is isolated and is undergoing treatment and we do not have any further suspected cases at this stage," Ms Mikakos told reporters on Saturday afternoon.Yesterday, authorities said they were investigating four possible cases of the deadly virus, but later revealed two of the patients had been given the all-clear by doctors.
