It’s that time of year again, when we gather the Helen Lovejoy votes and rank the most unsavoury content to hit our screens in 2021.
Despite record numbers of people turning to streaming services, it appears there’s still enough Aussies willingly watching free-to-air -- and getting p*ssed off enough to write letters of complaint about ads getting a little cheeky during primetime.
“Ad Standards gives a voice to community concerns about advertising content on any media, from broadcast and billboards to digital and social media,” Mr Bean said in a press release. “The top concern in 2021 was about sex, sexuality and nudity followed closely by health and safety then discrimination and vilification.”
“One of the strengths of Australia’s advertising self-regulatory system is the high level of industry support and compliance,” Mr Bean continued.
