Australia's unemployment rate remains steady and continues to be the lowest it has been in 39 years, according to new data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics on Thursday confirmed the figure remained the same for May 2022 and revealed seasonally adjusted employment increased by 0.5 per cent or 61,000 people.
"The increase in May 2022 was the seventh consecutive increase in employment, following the easing of lockdown restrictions in late 2021," he said. "In addition to the continuing trend of increasing employment, we have continued to see relatively stronger growth in hours worked," he said.Seasonally adjusted employment and hours worked. "This was also a record high for people aged between 15 and 64 years, where it was more than four out of five people in May."
