They extended the lead to 8-4 an inning later when Canberra native Robbie Perkins delivered his monster three-run homer, backing the team's confidence in their power-hitting.It was Australia's third-ever win at the World Baseball Classic in their fifth trip to the biggest international tournament.Logan Wade scored Darryl George on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to put Australia up early.Tim Kennelly added to Australia's tally with a solo shot in the fifth to put them up 2-0.

Then they piled it on and Euiji Yang blasted a ball over the left field fence off reliever Dan McGrath to put them up 3-2 before ByungHo Park drilled a ball off the top of the left field wall for another run.
