Thousands of Australians will become eligible for express entry into the United States from 2025 under a new deal.
| Thousands of Australian travellers will be granted express entry into the United States from late 2025 after Australia was granted access to the US global entry program.
Ambassador Kevin Rudd and Foreign Minister Penny Wong check out Australia’s new embassy in Washington.Australia joins a list of other nations including the UK and Singapore that are taking part in the program, in which time-sensitive transit information is shared quickly with the United States. Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Christine Ciccone and Australia’s ambassador to the US, Kevin Rudd, signed a memorandum of understanding on the deal on Monday at the Australian embassy in Washington.
About 1.3 million Australians visit the United States yearly, while about 650,000 Americans visit Australia.Australia joins other global entry partners including Argentina, Brazil, Bahrain, the Dominican Republic, India, Colombia, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Panama, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and Mexico.
