After receiving information about the man's contact with a known child abuser in the Philippines, the Australian Federal Police arrested and charged him in 2025 for possessing and controlling child abuse material. The man was also charged with 34 additional charges, which included persistent sexual abuse of a child, causing harm, grooming, and using a carriage service to solicit child pornography material.

Australian Federal Police first arrested and charged the man in 2025, after receiving information that he had been in contact with a known child abuse "facilitator" in the Philippines.

The 38-year-old man will appear in Innisfail court today after being hit with more than 30 additional charges relating to child sexual abuse. Officers found more than 8000 files of child abuse material on electronic devices located at the home. The AFP will allege the man engaged in over 40 live sex shows on social media, involving four young girls from the Philippines.

He was previously charged with one count of possessing or controlling child abuse material obtained online, with the man now being charged with 34 additional offences. The additional charges include, but are not limited to, six counts of persistent sexual abuse of a child outside of Australia, five counts of causing harm to a child to engage in sexual activity, seven counts of offences of 'grooming' a child to engage in sexual activity outside Australia and one count of using a carriage service to solicit child pornography material.

In a search warrant of the man's Innisfail home in Far North Queensland, in January 2025, officers found more than 8000 files of child abuse material on electronic devices located at the home.

At the time, they also had received information that the man had allegedly paid to watch children being abused on video. AFP Detective Superintendent Adrian Telfer said the arrest comes as the organisation continue to target alleged child sex offenders.

"The AFP works closely with police around the world to combat the exploitation and abuse of children," Telfer said. "Our common goal is to protect children, wherever they live, and to ensure anyone who tries to harm them is identified and brought before the courts.
