Australia is on tsunami watch following a magnitude 7.6 earthquake in New Caledonia. 7NEWS
If a tsunami has been generated, it may start affecting Lord Howe Island after 4.15pm, the Bureau warned.
“There is a possibility of dangerous rips, waves and strong ocean currents and some localised overflow onto the immediate foreshore commencing after 4.15pm Friday and persisting for several hours,” it warned on Friday afternoon. “While evacuations are not necessary for Marine Threat areas, people in these areas are advised to get out of the water and move away from the immediate water’s edge.”If you’d like to view this content, please adjust your
