An Australian mum has detailed the harrowing moment she discovered her three-year-old daughter had accidentally swallowed a 10 cent coin while playing. The mother’s story has been shared by a former paramedic, in a bid to warn parents about leaving loose coins lying around the home.
Paramedic’s ‘toilet roll choke test’. Nikki Jurcutz, a paramedic for eight years with Ambulance Victoria, shared the mum’s story after the little girl was taken to hospital emergency after swallowing the 10c piece. An eye-opening X-ray shows the round object stuck in the little girl’s body. “This was our day today... My daughter swallowed a 10 cent coin,” the mum said. “I saw the money on the floor this morning and thought nothing of it.
