Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis have won the men's doubles at the Australian Open, beating fellow Aussies Matt Ebden and Max Purcell 7-5, 6-4

The Woodies are presenting the trophies, the Special Ks are championsThey are grand slam doubles champions.Kokkinakis congratulated Ebden and Purcell and admits he is in shock.

“Nick - I love you brother,” Kokkinakis said. “We didn’t think we would get anywhere near this far. With the help of your guys and the coverage it got [we did], we couldn’t ask for anything more.” Kyrgios said he never expected this would happen and thanked his team for supporting him when he had COVID-19 a week out from the tournament.“I know this big boy [points to Kokkinakis] will be out tonight so ladies let’s go.”

Matt Ebden said the Special Ks were too good and they didn’t do too much wrong, just Special Ks were too good.Max Purcell said he hoped they kept playing doubles as it is “hella fun” to watch them play and it’s the biggest crowd he has played in front of so hopes it can happen again.Kyrgios blasted his first three serves with two aces among them and with match point there was little their fellow Aussies could do but paddle it back with Kokkinakis smashing home a winner.
