Earlier today Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis made it through to the Australian Open men’s doubles final after they defeated Tim Puetz and Michael Venus in their quarter-final.It was one of the matches of the tournament, and it was the Spanish legend who emerged victorious after more than four hours.They call themselves Girls Makin’ a Racket, and these four visitors from interstate are drawing attention to themselves during this year’s Australian Open.

When entering Melbourne Park, a smiling attendant exclaimed, “The girls makin’ a racket are back. Hello girls!“ And they can still laugh a lot. When asked if they get up to mischief, Ms Phillips says: “We have a very good time and it’s lots of fun.”The women have supported each other in tough times, especially during COVID-19.

Last year, they couldn’t come to the Open due to travel restrictions so instead they watched four days of the tournament together in an apartment on the Gold Coast - wearing their T-shirts.
