Amid China’s attempt to gain influence in the region, Australian Strategic Policy Institute Pacific analyst Blake Johnson said the offer to assist Pacific leaders would be an unspoken prompt of how Australia was a friend to them all the time.“It’s a reminder of those deep ties that have lasted for decades and longer and how they’re not going away any time soon,” Mr Johnson said.
