Andy Buchanan is taking time to appreciate his marathon performance. However, the Bendigo school teacher is anticipating the reactions of his students when he returns to the classroom. Buchanan recently set a national record at the Valencia Marathon, finishing in 2:06:22, surpassing Brett Robinson's previous mark of 2:07:31. Buchanan placed 16th in the race, four minutes behind the Kenyan winner.
This achievement follows his participation in the Olympics as a last-minute replacement for the injured Robinson, where he finished 45th. Buchanan acknowledges his students' honesty and anticipates their feedback on his record-breaking run. He aims to savor the experience and avoid rushing into his next goal
