A Sunshine Coast teenager locked up in Bali has been dealt a blow with the security guard he's accused of attacking so far refusing offers of compensation.
"The victim is still thinking about the amount and we are still negotiating with the family," Sienny Karmana, from the 18-year-old's legal team, said. Zac Whiting, formally of the Northern Territory, wiped away tears while meeting with lawyers during his fourth day in Kuta police custody. The apprentice cabinet maker is accused of twice punching bouncer Adni Junus Liu outside a Kuta Burger King after a friend's mobile phone went missing.
Whiting's chance at freedom could boil down to whether Mr Liu accepts compensation and signs a so-called peace agreement, which could then spur police to drop the assault charge. "We are begging to accept this apology from an 18-year-old boy who feels regret about things that happened last Friday night," Ms Karmana said.Bali bouncer Adni Junus Liu allegedly punched by Australian teen Zac William Whiting 2
