New Zealand police have officially identified the first victim from the White Island volcano eruption as a 21-year-old Australian woman.
Two teams of search and rescue officers arrived on the island around 6.30am to search an area of the island where police believe a body may be.

In a joint military, police and scientific recovery plan, a team of seven soldiers landed on the volcano island hoping to recover all the remaining bodies of those killed in Monday’s eruption.
