An Australian woman found submerged in a Bali hotel bathtub had taken to social media to share a happy holiday video just hours before her death. Brisbane woman Pauline Cannon, 67, was discovered about 7.30am on Sunday when staff noticed water running heavily into the corridor from her room at the Pullman Hotel in Kuta. Housekeeping at the beachfront resort tried calling the room several times but got no response and had to use a security master key to get in because the door was double locked.

Hours before her death, a smiling and laughing Cannon had taken to social media to share a video of her at the bar. “Here we go. Say goodnight, Irene,” she said before taking a drink from a shot glass and pulling a sour face expression after sucking on lime. She captioned the 20-second clip shared on Saturday night: “The things you do in Bali.” Grieving family are still trying to make sense of her death and are yet to comment publicly. Cannon was just weeks from celebrating her 68th birthday.
