Australians can now get their hands on new $2 coins which have been released to celebrate the nation's Olympic and Paralympic athletes competing in Paris.

Australians can now get their hands on new $2 coins which have been released to celebrate the nation's Olympic and Paralympic athletes competing in Paris.

On Wednesday, the first of the coins were issued through the tills. It is dedicated to the Olympic Team and features the word 'community'. A third Olympic Team coin with the word 'Olympism' will be issued on August 14, while the Paralympic Team coin will be available on August 28. Meanwhile, Australia Post confirmed on Wednesday it will release stamps commemorating Australian Olympic gold medal winners.
