Locked-down across the ditch, Australians stuck in New Zealand are struggling to get home, battling fast-filling airline bookings and last-minute cancellations.
A social media comedy duo are among the hundreds unable to return, with their week-long stay in Queenstown turning into three months.
The pair – Matt Ford and Jack Steele – are on the South Island where there is no COVID, but the whole of New Zealand is considered by NSW Health to be a hotspot. A small number of Australians have managed to book flights home for later this month but they have been told cancellation is almost certain as there is not enough space in hotel quarantine.
