Vulnerable and low-income households can expect to receive cash handouts of $75 for singles and $125 for couples

Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has promised that if the legislation passes, payments will be deposited into the bank accounts of about 3.9 million eligible Australians by the end of financial year.Those receiving the one-off energy cash handouts include 2.4 million people on age pensions, nearly 750,000 people on disability support pensions, carers and single parent payment recipients, as well as eligible veterans.
