Australians want their leaders to stay the course in efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus, with three-quarters now backing the government response including border restrictions and quarantines | EXCLUSIVE by rharris334
believing it will get better in three months and four in five believing it will improve in a year.
Newgate Research managing director Sue Vercoe said there was a clear increase in belief the virus spread was being controlled, with a significant week-on-week fall in the proportion of Australians who believed the situation would worsen in the next few months and associated drops in concern about personally catching it.
The study showed people were struggling most with the lack of social interaction, impacts on their income, having to stay at home and being unable to exercise or be outdoors as they normally would.
