It follows revelations earlier this week that PwC was unlikely to win the $8 million external audit tender for Lendlease despite earlier being a favourite for the role. A spokesman for the $274 billion super fund said it had raised its concerns “at the highest level” to PwC last week, but was going ahead with the ban.“AustralianSuper is concerned with the ongoing revelations around PwC and as a result has frozen any new contracts with PwC.
Australian Prudential Regulation Authority chairman John Lonsdale told Senate estimates on Wednesday that he had met with major banks, which are also overseen by that watchdog, in recent weeks to discuss their dealings with PwC.
