Authorities have released the names of three people shot to death in Birmingham between Thursday and Monday.

West Precinct officers responded to the home in the 2200 block of Beulah Avenue

Sgt. Monica Law West Precinct officers arrived to find Ruffin suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10 p.m. Detectives will present their evidence to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for assessment.When West Precinct officers arrived at the location, they found Smith had been shot. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:13 a.m.Officers learned two other victims – a 19-year-old female and a juvenile – had been injured. They had already been transported by private vehicle to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation shows that the victims were inside a vehicle traveling in the 1400 block of Carson Road when someone opened fire on their vehicle. They were then driven to the hospital.The weekend killings brought the city’s death toll to 144 so far this year,
