Authorities ruled the man’s death a homicide in December.
SAN JOSE – Authorities have identified the man found dead in a San Jose residence in November, in what the coroner’s office later ruled a homicide.
On Nov. 27, police responded to the area of Almaden Road for a report of a dead body inside a home, San Jose Police Officer Steven Aponte said in a news release. A man was found inside and pronounced dead. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office ruled the man’s death a homicide Dec. 2. The man was identified as 59-year-old San Jose resident James Willburn White. The cause of death is listed as “blunt force injury of the head.”
No suspects have been identified or caught, according to police. The circumstances and motive of the killing are under investigation. The slaying marked the 40th homicide victim in the city in 2021, with 31 investigated by San Jose police and nine — victims of the VTA rail-yard massacre — investigated by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
