Authorities release names of man fatally shot on trolley in San Ysidro, officer who shot him [Breaking]

Sheriff’s officials on Friday released the name of a man who was fatally shot in a trolley car in San Ysidro last weekend and of the San Diego police officer who shot him.

Sanchez Ramos, 19, had once lived in Ramona, but deputies were not sure where his most recent residence was, Jarjura said in a news release.Officer Ruben Berton was identified as the person who shot Sanchez Ramos. The officer works patrol in the Police Department’s Southern Division and has been with San Diego Police Department since 2017.

On the night of the shooting, police had received a call about a disturbance involving a man on a southbound trolley who had what appeared to be a firearm, sheriff’s homicide Lt. Joseph Jarjura said.
