More than 2,000 Matanuska Electric Association customers were without power early Friday, including more than 1,000 in the Palmer-Fishook area,The Mat-Su school district will keep school buildings closed Friday for a third straight day due to weather and road conditions. Only Glacier View School will be open.
In Anchorage, Friday is a state released professional development day for teachers and there are no classes.
