Caitlin Baker has had her fair share of negative experiences in the hospitality industry and she's clear now is the time for change.Some women working in hospitality have reported not feeling safe in their workplaces and say they continue to face sexism and sexual harassment .Some workers say the time is now for change, and have launched a campaign to tackle sexual harassment in the industry.
Dash Rumble says she and her business partners have worked hard at their restaurants to create a safe, inclusive culture.Dash Rumble, who co-owns not only Such and Such but also acclaimed Canberra venue Pilot, said she had also been subjected to sexual harassment from a patron and colleagues. Now in the position of being an owner herself and having previously worked in venues where she managed staff, Ms Rumble said she took a no-nonsense approach to staff safety.
Ms Baker has also founded an organisation called Venus Vinifera, which focuses on promoting the voices of women in wine and hospitality.
