The crossing at Stevenston Road will be closed at various points between March 23 and 25 to carry out work.

Network Rail are set to carry out vital survey work to assess the condition of the level crossing at Station Road in Stevenston.

As a result of the work, the crossing will be closed between 10pm on Saturday, March 23 and 7.30am the following day, and then again from 10pm on March 24 to 5.30am on March 25. Kayleigh Waterfall, scheme project manager for Network Rail, said: “The planned work at Stevenston level crossing is essential to maintaining a safe and reliable railway in the area.
