The Baltimore Ravens open the NFL regular season at home against the Houston Texans and rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Learn how to watch for free.
Stroud threw his first touchdown as a pro during the preseason finale before being named the Texans’ starting quarterback to open the regular season. It came on a short touchdown pass to Nico Collins to beat the New Orleans Saints.
Last week, Houston placed offensive linemen Kenyon Green on injured reserve, ending the second-year player’s season. Green injured his left shoulder against New Orleans. The 15th overall pick in the 2022 draft, Green played in 15 games with 14 starts as a rookie last season. He was expected to start on an offensive line starring left tackle Laremy Tunsil to help protect Stroud, who was the second overall pick in this year’s draft.
As for the Ravens, the team finally signed Lamar Jackson to a big five-year contract during the offseason. He appears to be past the knee problem that ended his 2022 season early, and there’s certainly a lot less drama now surrounding the star quarterback. The Ravens did plenty to upgrade their wide receivers, signing Odell Beckham Jr. and drafting Zay Flowers in the first round. Baltimore kept Jackson and backup quarterback Tyler Huntley on their 53-man roster after final cuts last week, and it re-signed Josh Johnson after releasing him.Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens
