Brooklyn's American Diner & Bar in Bamber Bridge closes overnight citing a 'tough time for everyone'
A relatively new diner and bar has been forced to close overnight in what owners have said is a 'tough time for everyone'.
In the announcement of Tuesday, owner Andrew Bland said: “I know people already know but it is with a heavy heart that yesterday Brooklyn’s had to close. I’m gutted to lose what we as a team built, losing great staff who gave it 150% and losing great customers who supported us until the end. “It’s been a pleasure to meet so many great people and now I have made a lot of good friends. Also, please remember that staff have lost their livelihoods… this is a tough time for everyone.”
The news was greeted with an absolute outpouring of emotion online, with many saying they were ‘gutted’ and it was a huge shame. Cat Perrin-Griffiths said: “Gutted to hear this. An absolutely brilliant bar with some of the loveliest staff ever. Huge shame!” Similarly, Helen May said it was ‘awful news,’ adding: “Just gutted for you and the rest of the team.
