Ban on cheap alcohol has COST Scots £270million
Cheap alcohol was outlawed in Scotland in 2018, under SNP flagship policy. The Institute of Economic Affairs claims policy cost drinkers £71.12 per head.
Policy had little good impact on crime and health in four years, it is claimed. While alcohol deaths grew in Scotland grew from 1,045 in 2015 to 1,190 in 2020
