A Liberal MP and veteran has labelled Adam Bandt a virtue-signalling 'little weasel' and a “national disgrace” for removing the Australian flag during a press conference - adding it’s insulting to those who served.
ABC journalist Isobel Roe said prior to Mr Bandt’s arrival at a press conference on Monday, a Greens staffer put the Australian flag to the side of the room, leaving just the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags. “We must always recognise and acknowledge the past but the way we move forward as a nation is to walk together.” Mr Thompson continued, reflecting on his time in Afghanistan serving under the flag – saying he takes Mr Bandt’s move as a “personal insult”. “On the defence side, I fought under the Australian flag, I was wounded in Afghanistan under the flag,” he said.Ahead of a press conference with Greens leader Adam Bandt, a Greens staffer has just moved the Australian flag out of the TV camera shot.
