Customers need their banks to be "more visible than ever" as Australia continues to grapple with the economic and social ramifications of COVID-19, according to Suncorp's chief marketing officer, Mim Haysom. As economies around the world contract due to strict social distancing measures enacted to slow the spread of the novel pathogen, major brands have pulled back from advertising.

Ms Hayson told Sky News customers need companies like Suncorp to be even more active in the right channels in order to spread their message. "We feel we still need to be absolutely be visible, we are a bank and we've got a portfolio of insurance plans across the country and these are essential services," she said.
