People allegedly connected to a flare-up which resulted in the stabbing of Matthew Daulby are believed to have been drinking in Alpine Club Lodge
A nightclub close to the scene of a teenager's fatal stabbing could have its licence revoked permanently.
According to police, "after the incident customers re-enter the premise and a fight occurs inside the smoking area". Various licences for Alpine Lodge Club have been granted or changed over the years, the report adds. These include for expansion work. But having multiple licences for one premises leads to issues for staff and enforcement authorities because there is no clarity as to which licence is being operated at any specific time, the council report adds.
"During the disorder two persons received stab injuries, both were conveyed to hospital where one person was pronounced deceased. After the incident customers re-enter the premise and a fight occurs inside the smoking area."
