Altercation at Cunha’s Cocktails spills onto street and ends in shooting.
SAN LEANDRO — A skirmish inside a bar that spilled out onto the street late Friday night led to gunshots and San Leandro’s first homicide of 2022, police said Saturday.
The altercation began inside Cunha’s Cocktails at 155 Pelton Center Way and then continued outside the bar on Parrott Street. When San Leandro police responded just past 11:30 p.m. they discovered a victim outside the bar with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, police said. Police tried to revive the victim who died at a local hospital.
San Leandro Police did not identify the shooting victim but are asking for witnesses to come forward to help them solve the city’s first homicide of the year. “Our department is making it our top priority to bring the shooter to justice,” said Police Lt. Abe Teng. Those with information are encouraged to call the department’s non-emergency line at 577-2740, anonymous tip line at 77-3278, or text-to-tip at 888777 .
