Marketed as a movie for people who both hate and love the titular dolls, Barbie appears designed to be both a celebration and a subversion of Mattel’s most popular toy line. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling star in the film, but Barbie’s cast of characters is brought to life by a staggering array of talent.

However, new plot details suggest drama kicks up in Barbie Land as well. When speaking with Screen Rant about what items she was tempted to take from the film’s set, Supreme Court Justice Barbie actress Ana Cruz Kayne revealed a dust-up between Barbies and their iconic Ken counterparts.
Ana Cruz Kayne: I don't want to give away too much, but the Kens do a sort of re-branding of our dream homes--It's very rude--and in it, I will say, there may or may not be a lot of horses. I did take a very small, tiny horse figurine. My cat loves to play with it, so it could be anywhere right now. Sometimes I’m like “What is she playing with?” and I’m like, “Oh, it’s my Ken horse.”
How Much Time Does Barbie Spend In Barbie Land, Anyway? Thanks in part to new trailers dropping Barbie plot details, it seems like the bulk of the action in Barbie will take place in the real world. Still, the majority of the film’s stacked cast is playing a version of either Barbie or Ken, so there must be enough time spent in Barbie Land to justify the presence of so many known actors.
Of course, Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, the film’s writers, are both known for their unique storytelling styles and specific visions; although some plot information is available, there are likely more than a few story twists and turns left in store. Whether or not Barbie returns to Barbie Land at any point in the movie remains to be seen.
