Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has bombed at the box office in South Korea despite a lavish premiere in Seoul attended by the film’s star Margot Robbie.
South Korea is a lucrative foreign market for Hollywood studios and the third biggest movie market in the region after neighbouring China and Japan.
The film’s opening weekend received only an eight per cent share of total box office revenue and just 3.9 per cent for the second weekend.
