According to Variety, Barbie has now broken another record. Barbie has soared forward to become the highest-grossing Warner Bros. movie in United States history. This record was previously held by 2008’s Batman film The Dark Knight. To achieve this record, Barbie hit $537.5 million at the domestic box office, passing The Dark Knight’s former record of $536 million.
Barbie’s Theatrical Run Has Been Full Of Box Office Records This recent record is not the only Warner Bros.-related win that Barbie has had so far. On the worldwide scale, Barbie has been an extremely successful release for the studio, quickly becoming their second highest-grossing movie at the worldwide box office, behind only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
As Barbie continues its theatrical run, there are several box office records it could still break. After becoming the highest-grossing Warner Bros. film in both US and UK history, Barbie next has its sights on setting the worldwide all-time box office record for Warner Bros. Additionally, Barbie is closing in on becoming the top-grossing film of 2023, a spot which is currently occupied by The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It seems the only way is up for Barbie.
