He continued, “Everyone that knows him knows how insane he was— in the best way. I’m so lucky I got to spend so much time with him, and we’re all lucky we can continue to watch his work for the rest of time. RIP Michael, enjoy your unlimited Cuban cigars, comfy chairs, and endless movie marathon 💖.”
Michael, who has been credited in nearly 200 projects, received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1991 for his portrayal of Jack Lipnick in “Barton Fink.” Soon after, he went on to star in movies like “Elf,” “Godzilla” and “X-Men: Days of Futures Past” until his last performance in 2015 for “Ashby.”His cause of death has yet to be released.Born and raised in Brooklyn, Michael moved to San Francisco in the ’60s to start his acting career.and smoking Cuban cigars.
