In Oakland and San Francisco the expectations were similar. Highs were a bit chillier, at 63 and 61 degrees respectively, with wind gusts topping out at 20 mph. Walnut Creek was forecast a high of 64 degrees and wind between six and 13 mph. Even without the threat of heavy rain, expected gusty winds still prompted the NWS to issue a high-surf advisory starting at 1 p.m. Thursday., which lasts until 10 a.m. Saturday, warns of 10- to 15-foot waves, localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.
