Radio stalwart Allan is leaving as part of BBC local radio cuts
BBC local radio legend Allan Beswick has signed off from his late night show for the final time - with a parting shot at the corporation. All of the BBC's regional late-night shows have been axed in a major station restructure.

And his three hour finale was dominated by callers phoning in to thank Allan for being there for them over the years.
One caller asked Allan straight up on his final show what he had learnt from his years in radio. He replied sharply: "Yeah, broadcasters are not worth a carrot... We're like the weather, we breeze in we breeze out and three days later we're gone.
