Jody Cundy CBE, an English cyclist and former swimmer representing Great Britain at seven Summer Paralympics, has now swapped the track and pool for the Strictly stage
While Jody Cundy, CBE, has certainly made a name for himself in the world of sports as a decorated Paralympian, he's also found luck in matters of the heart. Here's everything you need to know about the sports star and his fiancée, Lucy Bowles.
Jody's journey began in the pool, where he started swimming at the age of 10. Recognising his potential, his parents got him involved in disability swimming, where he quickly made waves, setting records for his age group. In the world of cycling, Jody competes in the C4 events, which are designed for individuals with lower limb impairments or lower limb functionality issues. In August 2023, he clinched gold in the C4 1km Time Trial at the 2023 World Championships in Glasgow and set a new world record of 10.427 for the MC4 200m flying start at the same event.
Taking to Instagram to express his joy, he wrote, "2022 is done and dusted, I got engaged to my amazing fiancée @lulubo1982 in New York."
