Norland College offers students a 100% employment guarantee, life-long support and further training opportunities even after they graduate
A unique degree and diploma course in Bath is allowing students the opportunity to become professional graduate nannies. Its graduates go on to look after the children of some of the most prestigious celebrities, A-listers and royals in the world, as well as the children of hard-working professionals who want excellent care for their families.
In 2023, Norland won the Top Small or Specialist Provider Award at the Whatuni Awards, its third win and sixth consecutive year in the top two. The college also won the UK’s Inspiring Course Award at the Independent Higher Education Awards 2022. During their degree, students spend over 1,300 hours on placement earning hands-on experience. Norland's trainee nannies undergo at least eight different placements during their time with the college, including in maternity or paediatric wards, special educational needs schools, forest schools, nurseries, schools and with families.
In the summer trimester of their third year, students complete eight weeks of employability-focused training ahead of their placement year in full-time paid employment as a newly qualified nanny.
Norland students have participated in football, rowing, hockey, rugby and tennis teams at Bath Spa and in the local area. Many students seek out clubs where they can pursue activities such as ballet, swimming, yoga, Zumba, meditation, rugby and languages, while others continue their links with Scouting, Girlguiding, volunteering and much more.
