More apiarists in NSW are preparing to have their hives destroyed as authorities scramble to contain the outbreak. SA, meanwhile, has banned the import of all bees and beekeeping products from NSW.

"Tourists it affects, income to the shops, the tourist information centre and people that sell honey that I produce, and other beekeepers in the area," he said.Amateur Beekeepers Australia Manning Valley branch secretary Vicki Grace said the latest detection would be tough for local apiarists. "It would be devastating to have to destroy your hives, but we understand it's for the greater good," she said.The Department of Primary Industries will work to eradicate hives in the red areas."I live in Taree but run over 200 hives scattered between Moorland and Coolongolook," she said.
"These items cannot be brought into SA without written permission of the Chief Inspector of Stock," PIRSA said in a statement.
